The former local girls’ school in the village of Huelgoat was redesigned as an art space in 2009.
With almost 2,000 square meters of exhibition space, visitors can see modern and contemporary works by both French and international artists. Besides this, l'Ecole des Filles organises conferences of artists, writers or well-known personalities who discuss topics with the public as part of the programme «L'été des 13 dimanches», The summer of 13 Sundays.
This art space is open over Ascension weekend every year as a homage to Victor Ségalen, both a poet and a doctor who was born in Brest in 1878 and died in Huelgoat in 1919. The space is open after that from Wednesday to Sunday from 11am until 7pm. July to September.
